How Josh and His Mob are Using Their Voices Online

We spoke with Worimi man, Indigenous Consultant and JustSociale Board Member Josh Gilbert about how he is getting the most out of the Internet and social media – and how you can do the same.

What is your social media mantra?

Be kind! Remember there are people just like you on the end of every post and comment who want to be connected.

How do you achieve tech-life balance?

I try to ensure my devices are off a few hours before bedtime to help me wind down and disconnect.

What are your greatest concerns about the Internet and social media?

That it takes over from reality or creates a new reality that is hard for people to connect with.

What makes you most optimistic about the Internet and social media?

That our mob can keep telling our stories and capture information in a new method.

What are your top tip/s for being a good digital citizen?

Just be kind and honest! It’s that simple.
